my little brother
had tested many 
of life’s 
boundaries
before
he was five.

there was
the foot-long turd
in the public park,
the time 
he opened the car door
coolly
at 60k’s. 

he once
jumped off
a sand dune
as big as a cliff,
said
“adios”
like it was
nothing.
